Charles Morris Anderson, a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, boasts decades of exceptional collaborations in his portfolio.

Charles Anderson, FASLA

Landscape Architect:
Charles, inducted into the ASLA College of Fellows in 2007, holds a BSLA from Washington State University and an MLA from Harvard. He’s received over 100 design awards, including five ASLA national and 20 state chapter awards. His unique work brings wild, dynamic landscapes to national and international projects.

Sculpture:
Charles’s love of nature, especially semiprecious rocks and minerals, influences his sculpting. From his Arizona studio, he sculpts beautiful found stones and semi-precious minerals, each part of the metamorphic process that began eons ago.

Big Nature/Urban Ecology:
Understanding regional context and the spirit of place infuses “nature” into culture, influencing every aspect of the urban landscape. These places evoke emotional responses that deepen our understanding of nature, sustainability, and stewardship.

Every city part must multitask. Roofs are gardens, gardens grow food, streets and roofs harvest rainwater, and all landscapes are habitats.

Using native and eco-appropriate plants and natural systems is “context-appropriate design.”

This curiosity led him to rock and semi-precious mineral sculpting. He personally finds, hones, and creates unique, one-of-a-kind sculptures called “Skystones.”
